Just Another Nature Enthusiast

An acronym for me… JANE
Nature 🌲🐿
All the animals, plants, and other things in the world that are not made by people, and all the events and processes that are not caused by people.
Enthusiast 🔎🕰
A person who is very interested in a particular activity or subject and who spends a lot of time on it.
Photo-Naturalist 📷🦋
A person who studies plants, animals, insects, and other living things and tells about them through photographs and words.
I see myself as a curious mix of these three concepts. When blended together, they define who I am as a Nature Enthusiast and provide a pathway for life-long learning about our planet’s natural resources, organisms, systems, processes, and cycles.
My vision as JANE is to share my images and thoughts as an act of gratitude and respect for all Nature provides. By doing so, it’s my hope that others will be inspired to be Nature Enthusiasts who value the quest for life-long learning, and share their Nature knowledge with others.
Over time, the more acts of gratitude for Nature there are… the more likely we will be to morph Nature knowledge into Nature Wisdom. I believe that shared wisdom is vital for the kind of decision-making prossesses needed to promote the health and well-being of Earth… provider of Life support critical for survival.
My vision as JANE to share as an act of gratitude and respect for all Nature provides is not a unique idea. The act of engaging gratitude as a powerful tool to affect positive ecological / environmental action is increasingly supported by behavioral and psychological research. By all indications, gratitude is a powerful path forward. Here’s an example I found searching gratitude and the environment, “Gratitude Can Help Combat Climate Change.“
