I decided to try the grid technique to help me keep track of the pattern in the feathers. Studying the hawk grid-block by grid-block is great training to take my observation skills for noting small details to a heightened level.

I think the Cooper Hawk gaze exhibits the epidemy of concentration .

I don’t think I fully captured the deep, and focused gaze. However, I now understand that Cooper’s Hawks have yellow irises. (And, Sharp-shinned Hawks have red irises.)
