Thank you to my blogging friends at, Our Rumbling Ocean, who suggested I try the 5 Day Black & White Photo Challenge. Over the next five days, it will be interesting to decide which photos will lend themselves to the drama of black and white.
I like the expression on this Bushtit. Her focus is intense as she keeps an eye out for seeds and insects in the Douglas Fir tree. This little bird visited as part of a lively flock that traveled together. Bushtits prefer open woods and low woodlands. Eyes are pale yellow in adult females… which added to the intensity of this little bird’s gaze.
There are only two rules for this challenge:
1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W.
2. Each day invite another blog friend to join in the fun.
For my first post, I invited Ruchi at, Come Travel Along . It is a great blog to follow if you love travel and nature photos/ stories. Please be sure to check out her intriguing blog.
Very nice
Lovely sharp and engaging image Jane!
Beautiful picture of the bird Jane! Thank you for inviting me to this challenge.
Hello, Ruchi. I like this challenge 🙂 I’m finding that a great color photo doesn’t necessarily translate into a great black and white photo. I think that black and white photography certainly does depend on the element of drama. This little challenge is an interesting task.
Best wishes-
Jane
Your feedback is appreciated on the one! There’s left brain – right brain thinking… and now color brain – black & white brain. I’m inspired by the stretch 🙂
Want to join me in the black and white challenge? This entry was my first in the five day challenge. It’s fun! If you are interested, it will be exciting to see how you interpret this challenge. The two rules for the challenge are in this post 😉
🙂
Thanks Jane, it looks like a lot of fun!
Cool… can’t wait to see how you dazzle us all 😉
I totally agree with you. It is an art to find a picture which will look its best in black & white too. This is indeed intriguing.
🙂 Glad to know you are having some fun with this one, too!
Have a lovely day.
